As a foodie, hopping from one restaurant to another in search of good ambience and great food is a no brainer.

I'm seated at News Caffe sipping on some mocktail busy contemplating on where to dine tonight as I patiently wait for my date to arrive. Upon arrival, I suggest we change location, to which he luckily agrees on us trying out the new Brew Bistro at Galleria.

To our dismay, we find that they are not in operation yet, yes, this was some time back last year.

We therefore settle for Tamarind since my palate is dying for some fried calamaris.

Without a doubt, the entrance is picturesque, however, it looks like a duplicate of Radisson Blu.

We are ushered in and asked to register ourselves on the guest book.

The outside sitting is amazing though we opt to sit inside as it's quite chilly.

The music is subtle and quite pleasing to the ear, cozy and warm is the ambience, perfect set to enjoy with your significant other.

When it comes to appeasing cravings, menus kinda loose value, since your mind is already set and needs no alterations.

In line to this, when the waiter walks up to us to introduce himself and offer menus I automatically ask whether calamaris are available.

The smile on my face broadens as I anticipate for them to arrive on my table simmering hot. The glow on my face could definitely be mistaken for one of the lights in the premises.

My adventurous spirit orders for a tree tomato orange juice mix, terrible infusion I must admit.

With every juicy crunch, I enjoy the calamaris and prawns which had an accompaniment of some flavourful sauces.

For the main meal, I order for pork chops with mashed potatoes. Call it food choice loyalty. Hehehe. I truly love me some pork any day.

The meat is succulent, satiny and well flavoured. Well done and quite tender.

I totally love how the mashed potatoes are served. ...food for the eyes!! With every bite, my hunger pangs are diminished as my love for pork is heightened.

The waiter comes to check up on us inquiring whether we needed something.

I seldom have dessert and so I order for a mug of hot lemon water.

Awesome system wash down.

I ask the waiter for the cheque which he annoyingly takes long to bring.

I wonder why they always have to dilute great experiences with just a simple thing as printing out a cheque.

Nonetheless, the overall experience was good and I will be back for the calamaris and side sauces.
