A WILD TOUCH...

Have you ever soaked up the beautiful scenery of a place, that your mind ended up perambulating at the Mara? (Mara is rather dry compared to this)

Well, that's the destination my mind settled for as I enjoyed my glass of Orange juice watching the animals at a distance waiting for my friend to arrive.

He has always sang of how great Captain's Terrace is and that I should give it a try. Today is that fine exploration day.
Located in the heart of Nairobi, the restaurant is along Msa. road opposite Airtel HQ.
As I walked into the restaurant, I wondered if I was in the right place, the entrance is dark with maroon drapes enclosing the dance floor, definitely exudes an opera theatre feel.
I take a step back and ask the man standing at the entrance, I think he is a casino bouncer, whether I am in the right place.
I strut right into the terrace after the confirmation. The outside setting is simple with a rustic touch that oozes sophistication. I opt for a high table which gives a breathtaking view of the park.

The waitress walks to my table and offers me the menus as she introduces herself.

I order for their freshly squeezed orange juice as I inquire on their food menu to see whether there is an item that will make me change my porked mind.

Saint walks in with a beaming smile, to him, seeing me here is like winning the lottery. Tihihi.
He orders for a bottle of water and some chicken wings, light meal for the gent I suppose.
My plan to find something that would tempt me to put on hold my pork love was sadly unfruitful. Guess my loyalty to the juicy taste is unmatched.
The bar is quite close to our table and so I opt to walk up to the bartender to order for a mocktail pineapple mojito.
I am busy making a silent prayer as I inquire since it's not on the menu. BEST decision ever!!

Not only does he agree to it but also makes a perfectly revitalizing drink.
The infusion of blending flavors hits the right spots on my palate. Something about an awesome mojito that's just magical. It's got to be the mints soothing my mind. #Hypnotized.

The food is delivered and we devour with no hesitation. The wings are rich in flavour but rather greasy. Quite a turn off especially for Saint, who has a sensitive stomach.

My meal looks sumptuous and without a doubt pleases my tummy as much as it teased the eyes. Kudos to the chef for a job well done.

The flavours blend in quite well with the side sauce. A perfect grill I must say.

The potatoes are crispy well done.

I adjust my pitched tent in paradise as I sip on my pineapple mojito.
Time flies as we chat and absorb the ambience. Sadly I have to leave to ensure I don't get stuck in traffic, you know how Mombasa road is. and so we request for our cheque to clear the bill.
Captain's Terrace is definitely a great place to chill and catch up with friends.

The service was satisfactory from the beginning to the end. Will be back for sure.
