A BRUNCH EXPERIENCE WORTH EVERY DIME

Upon arrival, after selecting a table, one has the option of having a glass of non-/alcoholic cocktail. Though well presented, I found the non-alcoholic option to be unappealing, as if to have zero flavour inspiration, contrary to this, the alcoholic option was rich in flavour with the alcohol content hitting all the right spots.

Embodying a savoury eclectic cuisine, the Flame Tree restaurant at the Sarova Panafric is the place to be for their Sunday brunch.

From the breakfast bar down to the dessert section, everything is just so perfectly set, a total teaser to the eye.The raw bar had quite a rich variety of sea food both shell and fin fish.

There is even something for the sushi lovers...

The hot meals umbrella features cuisines rich in flavour such as Asian, Kenyan, Pan Asian and Caribbean.

From the breakfast bar, I had ham, salami and couscous which had a rather overwhelming sesame flavour that I toned down with some apple chutney...a perfect balance

The shish taouk, from the Asian cuisine was well seasoned and quite juicy, but in my opinion, the Jamaican chicken skewers carried the day concerning flavour and tenderness of the chicken.

At the Kenyan cuisine, the chef surprised me by infusing some peanut flavour into sauteed pumpkin leaves. Quite an exotic touch I must say.

I tried the king prawns from the Caribbean cuisine which were seasoned to perfection. I would highly recommend for one to indulge while they are still hot in order to fully enjoy.

The chicken biriyani at the Indian section was rather average and not as amazing as the hostess had suggested. However, the naan and the sauces were top notch. I must say, I enjoyed most of the sauces with my favorite being the apple chutney.

At the dessert heaven, everything was pleasing to the eye and yummy to the tummy. The toffee ice cream was quite underwhelming for me as it was overly bitter. The mangoes were sour which could easily be attributed to the fact that they are out of season.

The service was good, though they should be keen not to serve alcoholic welcome drinks to clients who order non-alcoholic.

I would highly recommend this brunch experience to anyone looking for an alluring chill out spot with an array of beautiful food culture to spend their Sunday afternoon.

Make a date this coming Sunday and give me your feedback.

Until next time....
