God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. ~Rudyard Kipling.

Her devotional love is truly comparable to none and the least we could do is appreciate her each and every day for being present.

For this particular dine out, I was looking for a classy place where I would take my Queen out for a cozy lunch date. Who doesn't love surprises? I know I do!!

Sikia Restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Hotel was just but the perfect fit, taking that ma works in Upper Hill. The impressive décor and the cultured interior set the mood just right. Totally perfect for that romantic date night with your significant other.

My mama and I.

The menu is topnotch with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.

I instantly knew I was going to have the flambéed duck the moment I perused through the menu. A side of irio (Mashed potatoes, corn and peas) would later prove to be the perfect accompaniment. Mum on the other hand chose tilapia fish with mashed sweet potatoes and a glass of tropical juice to take it down.

We were eagerly waiting for the food to land on the table and I must commend the chef for the aesthetic presentation which ensured the eyes were well fed Kula kwa macho lazima .However, I was in utter disbelief as the portions appeared rather small. Nonetheless, we said the grace and dag right in.

Booooy, did the perfect infusion of flavors make up for the disappointment. The duck was seasoned just right with its juices oozing and bursting out in my mouth with every bite. Ma totally enjoyed her fish. The accompaniments had their natural taste: the irio was not too creamy and the sweet potato mash was just as the name suggests. SWEET

Tried out one of their cocktails, Juicy Lucy, I would recommend it for someone looking for something sweet and not too strong.

Margaret our waitress, was knowledgeable, confident and quite pleasant, she made our experience quite worthwhile. Kudos to her for a job well done!!

See you on my next adventure....or should I say foodventure!!
